Max Wislicenus
1861 Weimar – 1957 Dresden-Pillnitz
1880–88 Studium an der Düsseldorfer Akademie bei W. Sohn u. E. v. Gebhardt. Schüler von B. Piglheim in München, wo er sich der Sezession anschloss. 1900–21 Professor an der Kunstschule Breslau. Gemeinsam mit Wanda Bibrowicz, seiner zweiten Frau, Gründung einer Webereiwerkstatt. 1919 Übersiedlung nach Pillnitz bei Dresden, da beauftragt, eine Gobelinwerkstatt einzurichten und zu führen. 1955/56 Sonderausstellungen in der Gemäldegalerie Neue Meister, Dresden. In zahlreichen Museen u. Sammlungen vertreten, bleibt sein Wirken maßgeblich für die Kunst des Jugendstils in Breslau.
